Linkedin is a Powerful Platform: Use it Wisely

Linkedin is probably one of the most powerful social platforms for professionals. Personally, I know from own experience it has elevated my position as a communication expert, bringing many opportunities and clients.

My advice is simple, just start connecting in some small way. Linkedin is like the ocean, it's features, unique algorithms and reach is vast. And if you try to tackle it all at once, you'll be overwhelmed. Start by posting comments that are relevant for your connections, contributing in like-minded groups, or by endorsing connections that deserve your endorsement.

It's imperative to firstly develop your presence as an expert, and be known as a giver, before you start sending cold emails that smell of sales. No one likes to be sold to you. People want to find out about you and your product in a more organic way.

Think about Linkedin as if it's the ultimate networking party-- imagine you're standing in a room surrounded by your valuable connections, would you immediately ask them for business? I think not, because that would be selfish, and all about you. Instead, before the ask, get to know your Linkedin online community, and chances are the business will follow.

Remember, people do business with people they like.

Effective Communication in Marketing and Investing

Ah, the age of communication and video, there's nothing like it where you can share your ideas and hopefully ‪#‎inspire‬ an audience to take positive action in some small way. I'm so very ‪#‎grateful‬ and incredibly honored for the opportunities that have come my way, and even though I teach communication and leadership skills, and I'm proud of my talk here, I'm still learning how to be better at winning the room. Throughout my ‪#‎career‬, I've been blessed to develop various ‪#‎techniques‬ which have allowed me to deconstruct talks and look at them more mechanically with a healthy enough emotional detachment, in order to learn, grow, and become a better speaker. One of my first clients Cheryl Yeoh who has made tremendous leaps with her career invited me to speak at her conference in Kuala Lumpur, ‪#‎Malaysia‬. This video was shot at the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre in front of a warm and an amazing audience. #grateful ‪#‎feelingblessed‬ ‪#‎communication‬ ‪#‎leadership‬ ‪#‎wintheroom‬

How To Have A Successful Workshop

It seems as if we are in workshop mania--there everywhere and nowhere. The choices are overwhelming to say the least.

If you teach you want yours to stand out. Many workshops are fabulous and well worth the investment, when they're not trying to provide you with everything. They're really only meant to provide insight or introduce a new skill set.

Q: What should be the intention of a workshop?
